Clarissa Lunt
Viola Principal
has been playing viola for 25 years. Clarissa graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho in Music Education in 2010 under the tutelage of Dr. Kevin Call. She has over 15 years experience teaching orchestra, choir, and band at Maria Montessori Academy in North Ogden, Snowcrest Junior High in Eden, and Municipal Elementary in Roy. Clarissa currently teaches Orchestra at American Preparatory Academy in Salem. She also teaches private violin and viola lessons. Clarissa enjoys chamber music and was the violist in the Mountain Aire String Quartet in Morgan. In addition to her music talents,
Clarissa is also a 3rd Degree Black Belt with Ernie Reyes West Coast World Martial Arts and Championship Martial Arts. Clarissa considers her biggest accomplishment raising her two daughters. When she is not teaching, or practicing viola, or training in martial arts, Clarissa enjoys playing games, reading, swimming, and walking her dog. Clarissa has a tradition of playing Handel's Messiah every holiday season. In college she had the opportunity to play Handel's Messiah in BYU-Idaho's Baroque Ensemble on Baroque Period instruments under the Direction of Dr. Robert Tueller, it was a fascinating experience!
New to the Utah County area, Clarissa is excited to play with Nebo Holiday Chorus and Orchestra this year!Â
