Philip Kersh

From an instrumentally talented family, Philip started his love of trumpet in fourth grade. One of his earliest memories was watching his father perform Handel’s Messiah with Clyn Barrus, of the Minnesota Orchestra. He studied with Manny Laureano, principal trumpet of the Minnesota Orchestra. After serving a mission, Phil attended BYU and studied under David Blackinton and Bret Jackson. Philip continues to enjoy teaching and performing regularly with Utah Valley Symphony and Millennial Choirs and Orchestra.
